AmeriCorps Volunteer Service of America Day

 

Today i was very excited to talk to this amazing group about where i work AmeriCorps. One kids said what is that logo on your shirt lol So i told them all about AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) its a national Federal service program dedicated to alleviating poverty and building capacity in communities across the United States. VISTA members work full-time for a year in nonprofit organizations and public agencies, focusing on projects that address community needs, such as education, health, and economic development.They love visiting me at work.  

Through their service, VISTA members develop programs, recruit and train volunteers, and build partnerships to create lasting change. We take a sworn oath committing ourselves to making a difference. So today I talk to One Hand Washes the Other, INC. youth Group. I Told them all about the work we do for our country. We do this work everyday!!!! 

Let’s continue to advocate for our communities and inspire the next generation to get involved! This group right here promised me that they will all serve with us one day. These kids be ready to learn!
